Back to Training After the Holiday Break!

As the school holidays draw to a close, we're excited to dive back into the pool and resume training for the WPNSW 2024 Winter Metro Competition. We hope everyone had a restful break and is ready to get back into the swing of things!

✨ Junior Men & Women Winter Metro Dates (U14, U16 & 18's):

• Women Returning to Training: Tuesday, 23rd July
• Men Returning to Training: Wednesday 24th July
• First Game Back After Holidays: Sunday 28th July
• Last Metro Round Game: Sunday 18th August
• Finals: Sunday 25th August

If you or your child would like feedback regarding your child/ren's development, please don't hesitate to contact your child's coach. They will be more than happy to provide information to help you and your child understand their progress and areas for improvement.

Let's make the most of the rest of the season with strong training sessions and great teamwork. See you all back in the pool.

Congratulations to all our SNB Players who represented Australia in the recent U16 World Championships and NZ Tours.

 16&U Men's Australian World Aquatics World Championships - Alex Woolfe, Jett Semmens & Lachie Davies. These players competed in the 16&U Men's Water Polo World Championships in Malta, with their team placing 10th in the world out of the 32 conutries competing. An amazing accomplishment, well done team.

 16&U Men's Australian NZ Tour - Kosta Tsiaousis travelled to New Zealand from 7th-15th July to train and compete against the NZ teams.

 16&U Women's Australian World Aquatics World Championships 🥉

Zara Cooke & Alannah Paul. These players competed in the 16&U Women's Water Polo World Championships in Turkey, with their team bringing home the Bronze medal after beating Croatia 13-10 in the Bronze Medal match. Well Done to Zara, Alannah and their team for such a fantastic result.

Women's U16 World Championships Results and Game Replays

 18&U Women's Australian NZ Tour - Sophia Cooper travelled to New Zealand in July to compete against 21&U teams at the New Zealand Nationals as well as training with the 19&U New Zealand National squad. Congratulations to Sophia and the team for bringing home the Bronze Medal.

 U13 Development Tour to Tasmania - The 13&U National Development Carnival is a state based participation carnival that was held in Hobart, Tasmania from 4th-7th July 2024. SNB had 10 players travel south for the tournament. Well done to Emma Blackshaw, Kiera Donovan, Emma Smith, Isabelle Hatch, Gemma Dixon, Chloe Armstrong, Piper Brenchley, Violet Benham, Catalyne Crabbe, Sarah Kranes and Coaches Joe Penney and Rochelle Hatch for a great tournament with the girls coming 4th overall.

NEW 2024 WPNSW State Championship Dates - 14th - 22nd December 2024

The NSW State Championships will serve as the primary seeding event for the 2025
Australian Youth Water Polo Championships (AYWPC).

The NSW State Championships will include the following age groups:

• Under 12's
• Under 14's
• Under 16's
• Under 18's
• Under 22s (Col Smee Championships)

More details regarding this tournament and Age Group dates TBA from WPNSW soon so stay tuned...

The Australian Youth Water Polo Championships (AYWPC) will make a stunning return to Perth, Western Australia in April 2025.

Week 1 | 14-18 April 2025: 18&U and 14&U age groups

Week 2 | 20-24 April 2025: 16&U and 12&U age groups 

SNB will be sending an A Grade Team in the 12&U, 14&U, 16&U and 18&U Divisions. More details regarding this tournament including which teams will be selected to compete at Nationals will be published after Summer Metro trials and once teams are confirmed in September 2024.

The Wait is Over... The 2024 Paris Olympics Are Starting THIS WEEK!!

The Olympics is a time of immense pride and celebration as athletes from around the world prepare to showcase their talent and dedication on the world stage. As we celebrate the start of the 2024 Paris Olympics, let’s rally behind our athletes, celebrating their achievements and supporting them all the way.

Please join us on Sunday, 28th July, from 5:00pm to 8:30pm at North Curl Curl Surf Club to celebrate our Men's Aussie Sharks team starting their 2024 Olympic journey by playing their first game against Spain. The game will be live-streamed at 6:30pm for us to cheer them on and watch together as a club.

There will be pizza for all members, and the bar will be open for the purchase of drinks.

Let’s rally behind our athletes to celebrate their achievements and support them all the way.

Both our Men's and Women's Aussie Water Polo teams have recently released incredible and very emotional videos titled "To My Younger Self." In these heartfelt videos, our athletes reflect on their past experiences and offer words of wisdom to their younger selves. The videos highlight the resilience and courage required to pursue your dreams and underscore what it means to represent their country and be part of a team.

Our athletes speak about the importance of having each other's backs both in and out of the water, and the value of the full support from the entire team, including past players. These reflections serve as powerful reminders of the strength found in unity and the significance of team spirit.

The Northern Beaches Water Polo Academy - "The Water Polo School"  has been set up to manage, promote, encourage and develop  Water Polo on the Northern Beaches and beyond, specialising in Grassroots programs.

• Flippaball for boys and girls 6 years to 10 years -  (Ages are grouped together)

• Junior Development Competitions and Programs 10 years to 12 years

• Junior Development Competitions and Programs 13's and above - on request (minimum numbers required)

• Northern Suburbs Schools Competition

  • Opens (Term 1 & Term 2) - Years 10, 11 & 12
